The Role of Chiropractor Staffing in the Chiropractic Clinic

.

The practice of chiropractor staffing can be a very lucrative business. The reason for this is that there are many places that need chiropractors and, therefore, chiropractor staffing is high on the list of needed funds in any health care industry. There are even chiropractic clinics that run on a for-profit basis that can offer their services to others for a fee. However, this does raise a concern for some health insurance policy holders.

First, one has to ask whether or not these clinics need a full time staff member to run the facility? The answer is no. A chiropractor's office can have as much of a staff member on hand as they like. The medical doctor of course will oversee the day to day operations of the clinic, check chiropractor job openings. In most cases, a chiropractor may only need to see patients once or twice per month, depending upon how many cases they specialize in and where they are located. If there is an increased caseload at the chiropractic clinic administrative alignment, it may be because the physician is also a chiropractor or because the primary care physician is unavailable.

What about chiropractors who are recently introduced to the practice of medicine? In most states, there is still a prohibition against chiropractic physicians offering primary care to patients. There are two schools of thought on the definition of "care" that chiropractors must follow. The traditional definition is from the dictionary at most, with care being defined as dealing with the skeletal system. The newer definition is from the civil code of most states, at which point chiropractors can treat patients who need spinal adjustment or other similar procedures.

One way that chiropractors can satisfy the legal requirement to provide primary care is by forming an administrative alignment group. Chiropractic clinics can have a group of doctors with similar philosophies as the physician. This allows for more intercompetition among practitioners within the group. It also allows chiropractors to offer their patients' evidence-based care.

To find out what is covered in insurance, patients should contact the insurance company. By law, chiropractic clinics are not allowed to perform surgical procedures without a pre-authorization. Insurance companies monitor claims very closely, so it is not advised to let the number of patients see that you are receiving services delivered in a clinic more than the number of visits per month. Assuring that there is not over service is an easy way to avoid additional charges under the miscellaneous category that can apply. One example is that a chiropractor is permitted to treat a patient who has thirty visits over a twelve month period.

Many chiropractors are familiar with the benefits of a non va health insurance plan. A VA plan can be less expensive than some other plans offered by many private healthcare providers, also learn more. As a matter of fact, many chiropractors prefer working with a service that offers a no or health plan. Such clinics may not employ full-time employees but can still provide office staff, obtain appointments by phone and provide fast access to patients.
